Quest to Read Them All – Not Quite Mine

As you know, I’m on a quest to read every book I own…  My only problem is that I keep buying more books.  Seems kind of self defeating, I know, but I absolutely can’t help myself.  I’m a bibliophile to the nth degree and I just cannot stop.

That’s why this week’s book is a brand new release!  The second in a series by Catherine Bybee.  I only recently stumbled upon Ms. Bybee’s work, and I can honestly say that I have read almost everything she’s written.  I am particularly fond of three of her series – The Weekday Brides, The MacCoinnich Time Travel Series, and The Not Quite Series.  I can’t wait for the next releases in all of the series, but I was absolutely thrilled with the prospect of Katie and Dean’s story!

not quite mine

Not Quite Mine is the second book in the series and a great follow up to Jack and Jessie’s story.  This story is a touching look at Katie, Jack’s baby sister, and Dean, his best friend.  Oh no tyical romance novel plot you scream, but it really isn’t.  Bybee takes the reader in a completely different direction and focuses on issue of abandonment and motherhood, which worked well considering that the book was released to coincide with Mother’s Day.  It was an engaging book and I couldn’t seem to put it down.  I read it in one day and was sad to see it end.  I cannot wait until the Fall when Monica’s story, the next book in the series, comes out.

I guess I’ll just have to deal and continue on with my quest and the books I already have on hand.  At least until August when Fiance by Friday is released.  I’m counting the days until I get that magical email that lets me know that the book has been delivered to my Kindle/iPad.
